The South Washington County Telecommunications Commission (SWCTC) operates a state-of-the-art production facility at 6939 Pine Arbor Drive, Cottage Grove, MN. This facility has a fully operational multi-camera studio with three Teleprompters, a chroma key green wall, Ross switcher, Mackie audio mixer with 2 wireless microphones, and a Compix graphic system. The SWC-TV studio can play and record in mini-DV, DVC-Pro, and DVD formats.
The Cottage Grove location has 5 non-linear edit suites equipped with Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Digital Juice animated backgrounds, and a complete music library. All production facilities are used by SWCTC staff only.
Cable Channels 14, 16, 18 and 95 in south Washington County are operated at the Cottage Grove facility from our Master Control suite. Channels are operated on a computer timing system that automatically plays all programming over the channels 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Viewers will also see an informative Bulletin Board with station and community information.
In 2004 SWCTC purchased equipment to create a remote studio at the amphitheater of Central Park located at 8595 Central Park Place in Woodbury Minnesota. This 3-camera remote system has the ability to record or air live performances and presentations from the Central Park Amphitheater on City Channel 18.
SWCTC also operates four remote camera systems inside the city halls of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, and Woodbury. All systems are utilized in the city council chambers to cablecast live and record city meetings which play on Government Channel 16.
