Since 1993, Captain Greg Rinzel has served with the Cottage Grove Police Department. In his spare time, he also coaches lacrosse at Park High School.

On Mother's Day 2017, the Colleran family experienced a devasting house fire that destroyed their two cars and 90 percent of what they owned. The community quickly rallied around the family to offer help and support.
