
SWC-TV operates a state-of-the-art production facility in the city of Cottage Grove. This facility has a fully operational multi-camera studio with three teleprompters, a chroma key green wall, Ecolab switcher, 16 pot Mackie audio mixer with 2 wireless microphones, 5 disc CD player, Scala InfoChannel graphics and Trinity effects system. The SWC-TV studio can play and record in mini-DV, DVC-Pro, DVCAM, SVHS, and VHS formats.
The Cottage Grove location SWC-TV also has 3 non-linear edit suites equipped with Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Digital Juice animated backgrounds, a complete music library, and virtual sets. All production facilities are used by SWC-TV staff only.
Cable Channels 14, 16, and 18 in South Washington County are operated at the Cottage Grove Facility from our Master Control area. SWC-TV channels are operated on a computer timing system that automatically plays all programming over the channels 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Viewers will also see an informative TV Bulletin Board with station and community information.
In 2004 SWCTC purchased a equipment to create a remote studio at the amphitheater of Central Park located at 8595 Central Park Place in Woodbury Minnesota. This 3-camera remote system has the ability to record or air live performances and presentations from the Central Park Amphitheater to be aired on City Channel 18.
SWC-TV also operates 4 remote camera systems inside the city halls of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, and Woodbury. All systems are utilized in the city council chambers to cablecast live and record city meetings to play on Government Channel 16. The facilities can also be used as remote production studios.
